VIDEO: As Waterloo Region’s police budget rises, so do taxes

There’s one thing the Waterloo Regional Police Service can’t arrest this year, and that’s the growth of its budget.

Set to rise about seven per cent in 2020, the increased budget will pay for labour costs and radios. As a result, property taxes for the average Waterloo Region household are expected to rise by about $33 next year.
